Jeffrey Maron works on paper in the same physical way that he works on metal. Instead of etching the surface, he distresses it, removing layers to add contrast and line. At the end he rubs in a pigmented wax with a dry brush, again a technique similar to finishing a sculpture. Maron uses the medium to explore ideas for sculpture and painting.
